Haven't read the whole thread, but I re-shod my E53 with Latitude Sport 3's and I'm really pleased with them. Lots of grip in wet and dry, good steering feedback, and nice and quiet too. When I bought the car it had Yokohama all round, and these were a different animal... Put Michelin PS3's on my Audi S3 when I had that, and they were really impressive on that too. Well worth the extra premium IMHO.
To be honest, I wouldn't even entertain run flats as I do a lot of mileage so noise and ride are a 'biggie' for me!

I didn't think they fitted Runflats on the E53, I thought they were only fitted when the E70 appeared on the scene.
???

They didn't from the factory. I fitted mine with a set as I had some spare when I took them off when I got the winter wheels for my X6 and the E53 needed new rubber.

My Bridgestone run flats are wearing faster on the fronts on the outer edges, so I checked the pressures and they had 33 in them, which is 4 psi more than what BMW recommend for the fronts with a max of 4 passengers.
I have started another thread about this and I worry that by dropping the fronts to 29psi as BMW say, then the wear on the outer edge will get even worse.
On another note.....having not checked the tyre pressures since I've had the car( about 2 months) I do noticed it feels a bumpy ride......I assume partly cos the fronts had 33 and the rears had 40, but also due that they are RF tyres.
When these run flats are knackered I will go for non run flats too......cheaper, and a better ride as reported by many people on here.
Cheers

Apparently if you get your tyre centre to set the toe on the car to 0 it will eliminate the excessive tyre wear on the outer e

What mileage are you lot managing out of a pair / set of tyres?
