In more recent years I have a far wider appreciation of different breeds. I used to be fairly anti shows but I understand their impotance and relevance when breed specific.

I still struggle to appreciate the credibility of comparing differing breeds in the same show ring...even within the same group as I feel that best in group or show can sometimes be influenced by a judges breed preference or made by a judge who may know less re some specific breeds than the entrant handlers showing.

Anyway - back to watching best in show :)

Seems dirty deeds may have been done.....someone's dog had allegedly been poisoned!  That in my mind is cruelty with no justification at all if it turns out to be true.

It's so sad that some one would do that meat cubed laced with three different types of poison never ever leave ours alone but it would still be possible to do something if they wanted to

People who abuse animals are not nice to humans either. The penalties should be tougher. Well done for showing restraint, steamyrotter,;what an ahole.

Very sad news re the setter death....RIP Jagger  :(

Some might argue that some early media comments have placed excessive inference that there has been wrongdoing a fellow competitor. Some perhaps keeping an open mind re wrongdoing.

Early days yet with Toxicology results pending. In the meantime I think the KC press statement was spot on.

Just heard radio news report that a second Crufts setter may have been shown signs of being unwell.

Fortunately I haven't yet felt need to stop folk breathing in order to resolve local dog walking conflict  ;)
