hi best of luck with your car i have a facelift x5 2004 117000miles and touch wood all fine at the moment,anything you want to know its on this site, there are some really knowledgable people here!

As far as I am aware facelift diesels were fitted with the 6sp box and the more powerful engine straight away whereas the 3.0i petrol model didn't get the new box until much later, not sure when they got an engine update if at all on the e53.
