Agreed, the wheels look a bit basic for the car. If you have the Msport suspension though probably best to stick to the big tyres and 19's as you say, will help smooth the ride a bit. I have the 20's but don't have the harsh suspension so i find them fine.

29mpg is good, I get 27mpg overall after several thousand miles. When i calculate per tank its almost exactly 27 as well. Long motorway journeys at 75-80mph average speed work out at more, but are soon averaged back down with a lot of town driving. Like you said, my previous 330ci 2002 did 26mpg average so I am very happy.

Yea 19s are the way to go I think, if the car was for me only I would maybe go bigger but the wife + baby deserve a smooth ride :)

I think they will make the rears to dark to be honest

Well, I want them a bit darker than they are as is, maybe I won't go 100% black :)

Smart

My 3.0sd 2008 motorway last journey doing within 10% of national speed limit saw 26mpg on a 200 miles
Do miss better mpg as my 535d on same journey and quicker would see 40mpg
[/quote]

26 is pretty good, well I think it is great considering the size of the car!

The SD and 35d were heavier on fuel.  Something that was addressed with the 40d versions - allegedly 15% - as the 8 sp box was introduced.

Mine looks just like that - same wheels. I think they look OK actually, but I'd be keen to see what the alternatives might be.

I will be getting 467M ones, I think they look great. I felt in love with the 239 Style ones, however these are so hard to find!!!

I have those wheels too on my 2009 3.0d.......I don't think they look boring......admittedly there are nicer ones, but I quite like the 223's.

As for the rest of your car....lovely spec and congrats.

Thanks! Yea, they are not that bad when they are clean. But I still think they are a bit boring  ;)

The best thing you can do for the ride is to stick (as you intend) with 19" wheels and stick non-runflats on them - despite the current generation of RFTs being a great improvement on the earlier versions. My 40d - identical to yours - rides better on RFTs than my pre-LCI 30D SE did but non-RFTs still make a big difference. I also have a set of symmetrical 18" wheels with winter tyres on and wouldn't recommend using those year-round: they do the job but the car understeers far more on these than on the staggered 19"s. The rear also looks very silly with the narrower wheels and the M Sport spats.
