X5 can have the same, yes. No control functions, just playback.

Can a 3.5mm jack plug cable be installed to play music from my phone or ipad ? my ford transit mk7 has a aux socket in the glove box.

I used to plug my iPod in this way on my old Pug 205 GTi using a Blaupunkt head unit. Not great sound to be honest so opted for an iPod ready head unit.

I sent my bm54 to Baris after losing all sound. Had a phone call next day to say it all tested ok and he was sending the unit back and would refund all but return postage to me.
A week later I text him to remind him to make the refund and as he had forgotten, he refunded the full amount back to me.
As for the fault, it turned out to be the main alpine amp for the 10 speaker setup. One replacement from eBay and sound was restored. Unfortunately the amp failure has taken out the drivers door main speaker.
All in all, a very good all-round service from Baris

Found the perfect mount for my iPod. I wanted something discreet, not clipped onto the vents, and something that did not look tacky...I discovered something called the 'Mobio Go'..I think it looks just right.
Consists of a small metal ball and a very strong magnet that fixes onto the back of the iPod. Great bit of innovation!
Oh, and got the 30pin adapter for my iPhone 5S and can confirm that it works no problem, charges the phone and plays music.

Just out of interest Scott, do you have an iPad/iPad mini with music on it? If you have does it also work through the car phonics lead just the same as your phone and iPod?

I have an iPad 2, I will try it. I can't see why it would not work to be honest.

Thanks, I couldn't see why not either, in the process of getting an x5 and I'll be doing the upgrade like you so just wondered, seen some dash installs of iPad /iPad minis that look tempting
