yes that what I was hoping for - and the manual is 700 miles away at home hence the daft question :? but will look when I get back and will definitely be using it

Interesting post - I wondered what 'CODE' was for ! I really must read the manual !

Don't want to be pedantic but as Chewingbacca says it is 10,000 combinations ( 0001 to 9999 + 0000 )

Though I suppose that is 9999 wrong and 1 correct combination :D

Well we could have some fun discussing statistical permutations, but there are indeed 10,000 combinations ranging from 0000 to 9999 which means the statistics of guessing the correct code is 9999:1

On a more positive not, as you suggest in your post, I have been spurred on to read the manual cover to cover when I get home to unearth all the little unknowns about my great vehicle !
