Thank You :) Yes i opted for the 40D as it just has that little bit more umph over the 30D. Damian can you not get them replaced under warranty ?
Collection will be 2:00 tomorrow !!
I will be sad to see the Audi go, but since we have had it we have had nothing but trouble !

The rear tyres on the X5 i am buying could do with being replaced in the next few months.
What decent brand tyres (Dunlop, Pirelli, Michelin, Bridgestone, Continental) last the longest on these cars ?
Thanks

Hi,

See my other thread about runflat tyres, especially when you don't know how they have been maintained prior to your ownership.

Rear RFT Bridgestones are around £360 each, so shop around!

I was under the impression that when buying from BMW AUC the tyres had to have at least 4mm of tread all round.  Certainly worth asking the question before you commit to buying new tyres.

4mm doesn't last very long on RFTs.  My Dunlops will be all used up at about 15k miles, or about 75% of what I expected based in every other non-RFT car I have owned.

Agree they won't last a huge amount of miles but given OP has noticed the tyres seem light on tread makes me wonder if they are anywhere near 4 mm

Too many BMW Dealers will just hope you don't notice.  Certainly worth pointing out and checking the tyres before accepting it.....

Nothing like a £1,200 bill just after you buy the car.... >:( :cry1:

Did  ask  Main dealer to look at my  alloys but i think they used the  get out clause about kerb damage ( which was slight  and only on the 2mm edge rims , not at the centre of the hubs which are now blistered pain!
Nice Audi tho !!!  That s a coincidence  as my partner has an 2010  A6  2 litre ' S' line with  paddle shift gear box and all the xtras , its a bit of a sheep in wolfs clothing to be honest  ,ok up to 50 mph then a bit gutless., but we have had a few issues as well with relay faults and car required recovery , fix cost £240 ,relay cost
£ 12 and it only does 24 mpg round town same as my 4 D  X 5  . !
Watch the trye wear on the front outside edges  as i find the 4D  is worse than my last X 5 which was  3 D  , may be the extra power scrubs the  edges quicker ! , ive got no excuse for kerbing the edges of rims and the diamond cut 333 rims are £150 each to be cut  double  dam !!

Picked the car up today well impressed ! Love it ! However i have noticed one of the number plate lights is out. It had an MOT yesterday. Surely this would of been picked up during the MOT ?
Bmw Auc ensures that the tyres have 3mm of tread. If there is less than 3mm then they will be replaced. There is probably just over 3mm on the back and the front are new. I heard if you put more pressure in the front then it will not wear the edges down.
As of my Audi, that broke down on me twice. Two separate issues. £900 for repairs !

The bulb should have been, but they might have tapped it and it came on, so that's a pass.  It might have gone just today....and increasing the tyre pressure will just wear the centre instead.

Hope the enjoyment continues... :D

That is exactly what i thought.
The dealer printed the spec sheets for me. It has M Sport Suspension Deletion. Is this a good thing or a bad thing ?
They have my part exchange for sale already: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p
£2000 more than what they gave me for it. £17,000 is still a very very good price for that.
Thanks  :)
