Yes it does, not the other way round though. I've filled a 330d M Sport with petrol........ did it once & never again!

Which is why BMW started fitting misfuelling preventers in some models starting in 2007.  They all have them now.

I'm religious about checking just in case!

That's good to know, my 330d was a 2004.....  must have been a common problem!  The AA towed mine 100 miles home & the local BMW 'Specialist' drained the tank. Void of warranty if towed to a franchised dealer
