I think the V8 in my old 4.8 X5 has been pretty much my favourite engine that I have experienced...I have a soft spot for American V8`s though and I think that engine has come the closest in feel to one.

Just registered its a 4.8is Violet - best engine ever!  I love mine even though its had so many SLS issues,  I kept up the BMW warranty so its been fairly painless money wise despite the ££££££££ of repairs !
