Im not sure if anything is missing.... I'll tackle the screens in the back after Ive got the unit fitted so I'll keep you in mine
I think you are right about the brackets being for a 5 series, but im sure i can make it fit some how.
So basically my only real problem is the lack of aerial....
Right I opened the boot thingy and had another look and found two wires (im assuming they are from factory radio but want to be sure to rule them out as being needed)

What was the aerial that was serving the headunit that you removed from the dash when you bought the car ?
If you can't find the original OEM Fakra areal just go on the web and get a standard or a booster areal that will plug into the din socket on your headunit, if that works then mount a seperate aerial for your head unit.
Got to be cool looking ones that will mount on the glass somewhere, or a shark fin one maybe.
It's only an antenna. The OEM ones give crap reception on aftermarket headunits anyway so go and find a dedicated amplified if possible antenna.
The OEM have diversity requirements that are not served by aftermarket headunits .

The unit that was in there didnt have anything plugged into its aerial socket, but received radio stations and quality was really good!
There was a parrot connected too, perhaps one of them had some sortof aerial built in?
