Rover engine!  In a BMW?  Surely a 4.8V8 or even a 4.4V8 is the right one?

Interesting project though.  Wish I had the time/funds/space to play with these sort of toys.....

The rover / Buick  engine is at least of the right era

There is that.  Rover used for all 'eras' didn't they?  Until BMW showed them a better V8 at least.

That V8 powered some serious cars and was highly tuneable.

My old man had an SD1 rover vitesse

I think BMW had a bit more devt money to play with!!
