Angel eyes upgrade - what headlights do I have?

Hello Steve,
I had  a 2009  X 5 M sport with Xenons  Pre LED Angel eyes ,  so i upgraded  the bulbs ,  after  advice  in 2010.
The bulbs i used were  HID    12 v  35 W    H 8    ( 4350 K  ) which is the  brightness  value. They cost
£ 29 , from a local  motor  discount shop.  They were  bright white  at night  on" side light  mode", and  fairly white in daylight conditions  blue white  in colour  , far brighter  the the original spec  orange angel eyes  but not as bright as  the new factory fit  LED  Angel Eye 2010 + BMWs.
My latest  2011  X 5  4D  has the factory fit  LED Angel Eyes  which are still  unmatched,  dazzling white  day or night !
H 8  Worth a try for under £ 30  Good Luck . PS the higher  the  K value the brighter the bulb.

incorrect, the higher the kelvin value, the higher up the spectrum of less usable light you go.  12k equals purple blue, 3k equates to yellow.  4800k is more of a white light.  Can I ask however, did you just go with a standard hid 35w h8 kit with ballasts etc? or do you just mean a h8 hid look blue bulb lol

I fitted these todays (what a faff), and they're much better than standard.  Sure they're not LEDs, but they are at least white and not yellow!

And a lot cheaper while we wait for the tech to improve and cheapen..

After keeping an eye on this post I also got the mtec bulbs after seeing Richards replies, nice little cheap mod (even if a little fiddly) unfortunately no photo taken

Picked up a pre LCI and the previous owner must have changed the bulbs as its non yellow
Not very bright in the day though
