That happened around here too.
Luckily the X was in the garage ;D

Will be using mine though also as I need to wash all the dust from polishing the X off before sealing and waxing.
SWMBO thinks I am mad spending hours and hours trying to correct the paintwork as best I can.
I think it looks better for it so I don't care.:P

We have that here too - one washed but the other will have to wait. And it rained again last night! >:(

I had gone to a meeting with the M as it was nice and sunny, little bit of rain so it seemed and the M was filthy!

Thank goodness I had not taken the X as that is all nice and clean in the garage.

Can't get the 'X' in the Garage as it's too long - by less than an inch - and too wide!!  And of course someone who shall remain nameless has parked an E46 in there (and it's spotless) >:( :(

Yep, cleaned 'er indoors car, looked the dogs with no streaks only to find it looked like a sand castle the following morning!

Still, my 997 is still nice, clean and looking fab in the garage :)

Tested my water and it's at 111.  Will the DI vessel be a worthwhile investment for me?

I used mine again yesterday, great results.  :D

I then ended up washing the windows (downstairs anyway) after the Sahara rain from the other day, and rinsed using the DI - fantastic - now wiping down and spot free - no need for the expensive 'reach system'  window cleaner any more - for the downstairs anyway  :P

Mrs X5Sport wants one of those Karcher window cleaner things that have been advertised recently.  Supposed to be OK for getting water off cars too.  Not sure about that bit, but it looks like a good idea for doing windows with.  Still waiting for it to stop raining (June wettest on record) or howling a gale so the foam doesn't wash every car in the street!!

After washing the X and putting it away, I always have to whip over the E46 as it inherently gets foamed and splattered. It's good in that it makes me keep them both clean, but sometimes, I could just do without the hassle.

I got one of those for the house, would not use it on the car though - way too hard.

Still worth it in my opinion, and the resin will last a lot longer for you as it doesn't have to work so hard.
Used mine yesterday for the second time, it's amazing how much deaper the shine seems to be on the paintwork.
I did read somewhere that windows actually take a few washes with this system to actually get to where they should be, probably on one of those other sites I frequent late at night.

Pmsl, but you are right. It takes a few washes to get the old soap and residue out of the seals etc which it what can leave the marks on the glass.

Just washed the car and took tap and filtered water readings.....

Tap - 198ppm
Filtered - 0ppm

Checked, double and treble checked with the same results.

Seems to do the job and looking at those figures I can see why!

Finally managed to take TDS readings, 219 in, 0 out.
Washed the car yesterday after a round trip to Woolacombe left it covered in flies and all the runoff water giving a filthy sheen.

Snow foam dislodged all foreign bodies, quick 2bm (all that was needed) before rinse then sheeting off using DI in strong sun. No water marks, fantastic.

Definitely one of the best buys, ever.
