Now (or once temps are around 7C or below), and no - Well at least I can't see a reason to if the tracking was fine then changing the wheels should not make any difference as all the angles should still be approx the same. The hubs will still be at the same angles vertically and horizontally. Not seen any scrubbing on mine swapping back and forth.
And - er - if you're shutting the lid, you might want to secure that lot a little further forward, or it's 'Goodnight Rear Screen' if they roll. Might get a little drafty in the back
I do miss being able to put them all in the back of the X5. Can't do it with the X6 without folding and moving the back seats, and the Mini - well forget it
Thanks. Luckily there no forward, backward space to move for them, they fit tight, in fact have to close the lid, go into the back seat then move them forward and the autolock kicks in, was well happy about that.

I run mine the same as the Summer tyres.

Initial thoughts. Butt ugly, smoother ride, huge road noise reduction, feels more responsive, so far 2mpg more on my usual trips.
Are the MXV4 plus really winter tyres?

No, they are not. I have those as summer tyres and just took them off to put my winters on

Re: Winter Tyre Info and Discussion Thread
hi,
Will i be ok to put winter tyres on my 22" alloys? as i have 2 sets of 22's its easier to put winter tyres on 1 set and change over as needed. I know they advise smaller rims for winter but a good set of winter tyres would get me arounf safley shouldnt it?

Re: Winter Tyre Info and Discussion Thread
You'll be incredibly lucky to find 22" winter rubber, and, if you do, the prices will be MASSIVE. 22" wheels are generally a bad idea for winter rubber (some of us more traditional types would just say they are a bad idea in general ) - seriously, there is very very little tyre wall on a 22" and that's part of the mechanism of winter tyres - softer compound, more tyre wall, narrower tyre. I can't remember seeing 22" winter tyres on any of the major tyre sites, but you will be paying serious money if you do find some - I've seen 19" and 20" on Camskill and Tyremen. Looking for them now is probably also a bad idea - the first snows have hit and a lot of tyres are out of stock already in the more popular makes and sizes.

Re: Winter Tyre Info and Discussion Thread
Had 20's on our X5 when we got it, bought a set of 18's with winter grips on at the same time expecting the amount of snow we had last year and so far theres been next to nothing.
