All,

Having read some really good stuff on here about how to change the breather assembly and air filter I've decided to give it a go, but got a bit of a shock when getting parts prices from BMW.

Air filter £48 inc VAT

Full breather assembly - 11127799225 - £61 Inc VAT
Breather filter - 11127799366 - £32 Inc VAT

Read back through this thread people have quoted less so i wanted to check if these prices sound reasonable or if
my local stealer if living up to their reputation ;-)
Cheers

Nice one give it go! It's not that hard really, I done mine last month & took me about 30mins!
I personally don't buy my parts from BMW as you can get the same part for a fraction of the cost at a motor factors!
Let us know how you get on ;-)

True of most things Andy but I think the breather assembly is stealer only. Probably not enough volume for an aftermarket company to manufacture, or patents. Although, when did the Chinese worry about patents.

I bought mine from the motor factors and could not see any difference between that one and the original BMW one that I replaced it with!  8)

Just wanted to thanks all the people that have contributed to this thread!!

I replaced the oil breather assembly with the revised version yesterday and the info on this forum gave me the confidence to do it. Great bunch of people on here, hopefully once i've done a few more jobs I can return the favour with some advice of my own.

Cheers

Did mine a couple of weeks ago too, wouldn't have even known about it if it wasn't for the helpful bods on this forum!
I knew all those tools I bought years ago would come in handy one day ;-)

cheers
