Thats great news Tim, Looks like its a little cheaper than mine - £2500 for a gearbox and torque convertor rebuild
Did you check out the connectors to the main engine ECU for your alternator lamp ?

Update
Car Passed MOT Yesterday - Flying Colours
So all issues now sorted, unfortunately after spending just over £2,000 to get it right and sorted, I have lost interest in it.
So I have listed it on eBay with No Reserve.
Who knows in a year maybe I will be tempted to buy another.
But until then its bye bye X5.
Mixed Emotions, as I now know someone will get a cracking car with all that has been spent on it.
I only wished I had pursued the previous trader for selling me a bum car.
I wouldn't want to have sold it without it all being fixed, I have morals, the same cannot be said for AUTO CARE NORTHAMPTON who I purchased it of.
I have put it down to a bad experience.
Drove the car back yesterday from the garage and it felt wonderful, but unfortunately it has been a pain in my backside and wallet for 4-5 months.
It will be a sad day when it goes.

Mine is going tonight at around 430pm
Sold mine on Ebay for £3600 with No Reserve it ended last night at 7pm, having spent £2,000 on it last few months, just happy to see it go.
So its goodbye from me and goodbye from him.
Tim
I may be back in the future though...
