I'm just trying to get mine sorted and before dismantling the car to route the Fakra cable I thought I'd connect it all up just to check everything works. The main problem is no sound which I assumed was the Amp Ctrl wire which needs connecting to +12v. Done that and still no sound. CDs play, radio works but nothing coming out of the power amp.

Any ideas?

Also, has anyone managed to get the installation document off the Andrive website http://www.andrive.co.uk/bmw_oem_androi ... lation.php

Does your car have dsp? If it is you need to do some wiring mods.

This thread has been running a while and was wondering if anyone else had bought this Andrive unit other than the 3 of us posted on here?

I was thinking it was a DSP issues. Any ideas what's needed.

So after some further digging around in the boot, I've concluded I need to rip the DSP amp out and replace it with an aftermarket one. The search has started.... Once I know it all works I think I'll also rip out all the old Sat Nav, Bluetooth and CD multi-changer as well.

What a waste of time the DSP amp is. Other than play with it when I'd just bought the car, all the features have been turned off. Who wants music to sound like it's being playing in a Cathedral anyway?

Actually I've realised now the answer is really simple and I can still use the existing DSP amp. I bodged it with a few wires to see if the plan works and it does. Once I've got some new Quadlock connectors tomorrow, I'll wire it up properly and do I'll do a write up.

I have been following a post on other BMW forum on the Andrive system. Just in case you don't know, Phil and the Andrive crew are working on a firmware update which I believe should be with us soon. It should sort out the GPS issues some have been experiencing as well. I have had an issue with the GPS UTC time and Local time being incorrect.

Ok cool. I've got dsp too and would like an Andrive but am worried cost of andrive AND dsp amp replacement and fitting would push price up near £1000....any cheaper workaround would be cool!

I have just taken delivery of my Andrive and i am planning on fitting it this week "sometime" i have the OEM nav system so i ordered the 5m cable to go with it but the question i have is: where exactly does this connect? is it in the rear corner where the cd changer/nav computer is or does it connect into the modules next to the battery. The reason i ask is i have an LPG system fitted and it will mean having to remove the tank to get to the modules so i will have to try and organise someone to help lift it. Any advice welcome.

Thanks

Craig
