What new tyres to fit?

I had the Bridgestone RFTs on the car, ive just replaced them with the Toyo T1 Sport suv tyres.
And have tested them nicely, having just done a weekend "thrash" from Blackpool, to Spa in Belgium [Spa classic racing]... Aprox 1600 mile round trip...
They were brilliant, even my passengers commented on how comfy and supple the ride was, the car is a 3.0sd M sport version.
The road noise is slightly quieter, but its the ride comfort that was a big improvement.

Oh and on a side note.
I was after the Toyo Proxy S/T,s, but couldnt get them in the 275 fronts from anywhere, and beleive me i tried... I think Toyo are phasing them out.
The only reason i was after these was so i could swap them round on the rim / wheel when they wear the inside or outside edges out due to the X5 BMW alighnment settings.  >:( As you cant do this with assimetric tyres.. >:( >:( In fact it seems very dificult to get NON assimetric tyres now... ::) ::)

I havnt done that much wet driving yet, as the Spa trip was dry, all the way...
But what wet running ive done localy , they seem fine, but i dont drive it like a race car on local roads...

[/quote]There probably good tyres that just had a bad day when they tested them in the wet.
I don't know how much to trust tyre tests as AMS rated the Hankook S1 Evo in first place where as Auto Express rated it 10th.

My E53 has 20" Yokohamas also, the wet grip is excellent and I find the ride is comfortable

Just an update, I have just ordered a set of Michelin Latitude sport 3's (non runflat) to try out.
They only came out a couple of months ago, they are for 4x4's that are used mainly on the road.
They also claim they are now oe fitment on some volvo XC90's, Porsche macan's and BMW X5's.
I will give an update after they are fitted.

[/quote]I ended up using Tyre Leader on the net and they were £860 a set, as they are in Europe they have had them a couple of months now.
We have a tyre shop on site at work and even at cost  to me Micheldever wanted around £960 a set. I doubt it was the 315 35 20 you saw for £220 as Michelin hasn't sent that size to the UK yet and they are due in a week or so.

Delticom's Reifendirekt (mytyres.co in the UK) rates the Uniroyal RainSport 3 SUV on top, low price notwithstanding.  In other words, it beats out tires that cost a lot more, according to their DEX index of cust sat and other reviews. Here's the link http://goo.gl/hXVg2Y.

Mine are 255/50/19 and 285/45/19 standard 3.0d Sport fitting, available now from a few places. I used Micheldever in the past, tyre fitting was good but they left the steering wheel off-centre when they did the tracking on my Audi S3. Not happy, as I was working down that way and didn't have time to piss about going back to get it sorted!

[/quote]Same here with the tracking, I used Micheldevers site in Eastleigh (Protyre) for my tracking and first the sterrring wheel pointed to the left and then when they re-done it it was pointing to the right.
I am using the wheel alignment centre in Southampton before my new tyres go on.
