Looking for an x5 3.0d

Post by class2ldn » Thu May 29, 2014 7:20 am

Hi guys, I did post this in the new section aswell so forgive me if you've seen both lol.

Been looking at x5s and fancy a 3.0d or 3.0i and seen this one below.
Does it look ok,  when it says sport is this  a good spec?
I notice it has no rear tail pipes? What's the difference mean?

I think it looks good, and worth looking at.

It doesn't have tail pipes because it's a Diesel. Only the petrol ones came with tail pipes, but I believe people have retro-fitted them to diesels.

The spec is good with sat-nav, heated seats etc. It would be worth checking the Bluetooth connectivity for the phone as I seem to remember that they changed sometime around 2005.

Thanks for replying, after looking I realised about the diesels. That's no big deal anyway. Not sure on that wood effect but I'm sure that can be rectified.

I know what you mean about the wood!

I very briefly owned one that had pretend aluminium trim which I really liked, but it was a bit scratched on the door trims. I ended up having to swap the car, and went for one with wood trim. Surprisingly I've grown to love it!!

That car you sent the link for looks as though it hasn't got a sunroof, which is a good thing. There are lots of reported cases of problems with the panoramic sunroof which can be crazy-money to repair. In some cases they can only be repaired by replacement of the whole unit. Lots of folk would only buy a car if it didn't have the sunroof fitted.

That's different.  Did they say why not?

Apparently it's down to statitistics. I assume they are quite popular for thieves
