BMW X6 Tow Bar Advice

Post by dobbor1 » Thu May 22, 2014 11:59 am

I currently have an E53 X5 which has a detachable tow bar and when not in use the underside of the rear valance has a neat little cover to hide the hitch and electrics.

I am looking at changing to an X6 in the next few months and hoping someone can adivise also on the best type to have fitted please?

Thanks

Jeff

The OEM version is made by Westfalia and an example is here:

X6 Detachable towbar.

Dedicated electrics kit - 13 pin

Full dedicated electrics.

The fitting instructions are also available on their site too.  For the towbar you have to remove the rear bumper and also replace part of the lower bumper valance as there is a special part made for the job in a similar way to the E53.  No cutting needed.

Ok thanks Richard.  I don't tow that much but need one.  Good that I can cover the hole as with the X5.

You need parts 10 & 11 as they are here on Realoem.  :)
