X5 dipped beam right failure

Post by Keithe46 » Thu May 08, 2014 7:03 pm

Evening folks,

I have had a warning pop up on my idrive this morning for dipped beam right failure. Having googled it it should a Philips D1S bulb is required. Having looked online these are around £130, has anyone had this fault? If so does it need to be a Philips bulb or are there any alternatives?

Thanks

Keith

You can get Philips (or Osram) D1S lamps for a lot less than that.  OEM are usually Philips or Osram.

Try people like HIDSDirect or HIDS4U..

HIDS4U do the OEM Philips lamp for £55.  Osram Xenarcs have a good write up and even they are only £115 a pair.  Slightly bluer lamp than OEM.

Hi mate

Thanks very much for your reply. Had a quick look at those sites and that's a massive saving.

Don't want to jump the gun but I have read online about ballast failures,if that was the case is that covered by AUC warranty?

Thanks again

The HID is covered under warranty, they usually just put in a new headlight unit so if you have aftermarket angel eye bulbs remove them first and put the stock in as they will just throw it away with the complete unit.

Had one replaced no quibble on my e92 as have a few others I know.
