Which version of iPhone?  They're all different.  Car production year may also affect this too.

One of these should do.

Looking down the list, it should be this one for:

4/4S:  84212298309

The 5 looks to be a but more complicated in terms of choice and will need a different adapter based on what you have.  No mention of a 5 that matches the 2012 options list.  Two of three yes, but not all.

Wait till Tuesday I'll ring up Bmw to confirm the exact part number looking at the part numbers on the link ending with 309 doesn't seems to support 6NR and 6NL?

Could be this one:  84212298308 only one digit different.

E70 LCI lists.  There's no perfect match but 6NR may replace/add to 6NF and 6FL.  There was a Combox (6VC) change at the same time as 6NR arrived, and another with 'expanded smartphone'.

That's the one I think would be the correct cradle post 2011 cars had to have the FSC code to enable bmw apps, btw what's the expanded smartphone?

At a guess it's probably what replaced 'smartphone integration' which enabled the media snap ins on pre 2012 vehicles.  6NR first came in around March 2011 ISTR.  You needed 6NF and 6FL to make sure all the USB ports were installed (3 - one in the glovebox, one in the centre console and one to the phone cradle).

The only option missing in my car is the 6NR bmw apps not for Facebook but I'm after the plugin feature from the iPhone, hopefully soon I will retrofit the Fbas cables from cradle to CIC and activate Bmwapps with the required FSC code importation!

Do the cables not run back to the Combox?  Understand about needing the FSC code.

My car spec missed the 6NF option due to the Dealer telling me it wasn't needed  (  >:( ) and I'm still trying to find out which cables I need and how to get the centre console apart so I can put the missing USB link in and replace the phone baseplate that the adapter sits on.  The Combox has an empty USB port in it.  After that then again, I need to find what coding is needed to enable it.  I have 6FL and 633 phone options already.

BMW have maintained that 6NR cannot be retrofitted to pre-March 2011 built cars as key hardware is absent.  I think that is no more than a later Combox version being needed.  At the time I ordered mine, BMW were touting the Combox as being fully upgradeable by software patches, but it turns out it is as bad as the Bluetooth TCUs from the early noughties - physical hardware changes needed.

Combox media is required for bmw apps, regards to 6NF I think it connect to Combox with the correct USB in glovebox,6NR can be retrofitted but as you've stated you need need combox media in which cars 6NF can also be installed.

Bmw apps plugin requires video line and beneath the cradle in mine it should connect audio into Combox media in the boot and again the video side from cradle connects to CIC.
