Front Bumper Removal / PDC Sensor Replacement
I have a 2007 E70 which the front right cornermost parking sensor is continually on after washing the car or in damp conditions in winter. It has been like this for 2 years but once dries out it is OK. However lately I am getting a PDC failure message and none of them are working. This lasts a few days and then they are all ok again. I think it is about time that I checked and changed out this sensor. I will pay BMW price to get the right 'angled' one in the right colour but will offset the cost by trying to change it myself which I hear means removal of the front bumper. I can only find info on doing this for the LCi and not the 2007 bumper. Can anybody please help me with this or post a link. Thanks.

[/quote]May also be worth checking with a BMW scanner as our 2007 E70 had two rear sensors playing up and when they do they were shutting PDC down on the idrive.
The oe BMW sensor is made by Valeo and from memory they were around £90 each from the dealer, I ended up buying 4 aftermarket ones from ebay for £60 the set, apart from not having Valeo on them they look the same as the obes I took out and so far I have had no problems.

There is a rough "How-to" on a US website on how to take off the front bumper on Pre-LCI's.
It's on my home machine- will post the link later.
AFAIK, it's pretty simple, just a case of un-screwing what you see in front on you (no hidden screws that can only be accessed by a child, on the 3rd new moon of the year - type thing)
