The vehicle weighs in at just over 2tonnes and you need to be looking for at least half that (Includes a safety margin) as you may only be lifting one corner but you are also lifting more than that as weight will come off the other corner on the same side. There are four jacking points.
I use a 3-tonne trolley jack and a pad in the jacking point, plus chocks under two other wheels so the car does not move. You'll need at least 6-8" of lift on a bottle jack and I think they are more dangerous than a trolley jack due to their small 'footprint' so are easy to tip. If mine is 'in the air' for any time then axle stands are in place with the jack as cover.
Or you could go into BMW and buy their jack for the car.
