Bugger, this is embarrassing

Post by 7builder » Mon Apr 14, 2014 10:38 pm

Yesterday I joined this forum and introduced myself as the soon to be owner of a 2002 E53 3.0i Sport with LPG that my brother-in-law had just taken delivery of. He was going to sort out a few issues with it before I became the proud new owner including a coolant leak. However he called me today to inform me that it looks like the head gasket has gone as it is pressurising the cooling system so he is returning it to the guy he traded it from.
Now until I saw it on the outlaw's car lot I must admit that an X5 wasn't even on the radar but having driven it and anticipating delivery I am now gutted that it didn't work out. It has demonstrated to me just how agricultural my Grand Cherokee is and shown me the light of BMW ownership. I am now looking for a diesel or LPG converted sport to ease my feelings of loss and emptiness.
Oh well I guess it wasn't meant to be, well not just yet but mark my words I will join my fellow X5 owners one day. In the meantime wish me luck on my quest.

Good luck mate, there's plenty out there that have been treated well and won't kick you in the nuts maintenance wise , how cheap was the one that got away?

£4200 mate with 122k miles. I've just started looking for a replacement but unless I buy a big engined petrol I realise I am going to have to dig deeper into the not so deep coffers.

For double that I can give you 50 per cent more power, 50 plus per cent less miles and a facelift car that has full BMWSH , just had Insp 2 service and fresh MOT, oh and it comes with both summer and winter alloys so 100 per cent more wheels  ::), sunroof, sun protection , media pack and folding mirrors , and under BMW warranty..just sayin... :)

Cheers!

That sounds very tempting Woof but there's no way I could run a V8 unless it was sucking gas.

Hi Seamy how much are you looking to sell it for? You don't seem to have had it very long, how come you are looking to sell it already. Did you end up doing the coilover conversion?
Cheers,

Paul
