but the steeting in the X5 is really heavy compared to any other BM i've  had  :)

... is this a trait, or something that needs checking (pressure seems ok, tread fine ... there is a funny whiring / rubbing noise coming from under the dash when turning).

The steering is weighty, but I wouldn't say its heavy.  Might be worth getting a dealer or other X owner to try your car to see if it is normal.

Check the power streeing fluid as mine was manky and making a noise lock to lock.  I got a massive syringe from ebay and removed it all, topped it up and removed it all again after doing lock to lock, repeated this for a whole bottle and then topped up and all was good.

I always thought mine was fairly weighty to be honest but just thought it was normal, I also had the whiring noise when turning the wheel & me & the mrs always wondered what it was but I just got used to it!

whoohoo ... the only must is the performance exhaust and my first one had the BavSound upgrade ... (i've just sold a set of the black performance girlles - they look class on the e93). If it has comfort access - make sure all the settings are coded before you leave the dealer :) .. other than that hope you enjoy it!!

Thanks for update :-) alas it doesn't have CA so thinking about purchasing a smart top module unless Jason can help.  Can't wait to get my mitts on it! Does anyone know if I can use the Resler on it as if not I'll put it up for sale?

As for the steering it can feel quite heavy compared to other BMW's I've owned. My brother has an E82 and he thought there was a problem with mine as the steering felt really heavy to him.

I actually quite like it. Feels more connected if that makes sense.
