Quick question, do all E70s come with a detachable tow bar?
I've looked at 3 now and all of them had the detachable tow bar in the boot.
Thanks.

Re: Detachable tow bar
No, its an option and a fairly straightforward retrofit as well.

Re: Detachable tow bar
If it was factory fitted it would have extra cooling, I think the rear suspension has a tweak and I also think the towing capacity was 3.5T with the proper factory option.
Re: Detachable tow bar
Not quite. The standard version has a capacity around 2.5T and the only extra cooling is a more powerful electric engine fan (800W instead of 600W or summat like that). The extra cooling system in the near side front wing is fitted only when the upgraded 3.5T capacity option is selected.
I had a towbar factory fitted simply because the cost of doing it later by a dealer was ridiculously high. On the X5 I never used it, but the X6 has been used.

Never anthropomorphise computers. They hate that.
Re: Detachable tow bar
Thanks for that.
The tow bar will come in handy as I have a tow bar mounted 4 cycle carrier.

This is the reason I need one. Mind you I'm guessing most people that have a need for 7 seats, might miss this option if they don't have it. Particularly given the size of the boot!
