Mirror auto-tilt for parking

Post by SlowBiker » Tue Mar 18, 2014 5:03 am

I am considering a 2011 X5 Xdrive 30D,which I have been told does not have the auto-tilt mirror for parking. I currently have this on my 330i and wouldn't wish to be without again. Does anyone know what this option may be linked to (i.e.: is it linked to the electric memory seats, etc.) and whether or not it can be retrofitted?

Vehicle is in a different location to home so not easy for me test drive yet, hence receiving amswers to questions at present.

Cheers

Thanks. What triggers mirror to tilt?  In my 330i the switch has to be set for the driver's mirror. Is there a similar setting in 2011 X5, or does it do so automatically regardless of settings, once reverse is selected?

Cheers

I thought electric memory seats were standard on dynamic pack SE models and M sports.

I 'think' my 2011 x5 does, but will have to check.    Mind you, the size of the mirrors are so big you probably won't notice.

Mirror selector has to be switched over to driver side as well.

As im the only one that drives my car, i have seat mem. slot 2 programmed to have both mirrors point down - makes it easier parking.
