F15 40d MSport Front Grill

Just taken delivery of my 40d M Sport and it had a black grill. All literature says it should have titanium grill but when I queried the dealer, they told me that only M50d had titanium grill. Not seen another 40d so would be interested to hear from anyone. Not a big problem as dealer going to change FOC. Just not sure whether there is a fault with literature, if it was a mistake with my car, or if my dealer had given my grill to a 30d customer thinking I would not spot it!

BMW do this to let you know you didn't spend enough dosh and should have splashed out on the higher model.  Just another way of ripping of the customer.  Great to see you are getting them changed FOC, out of interest did they inform you of the retail price.  I seem to remember it was about £80 for the E53 not including fitting.

When the 40d was the top of the range it came with Titanium grills but that as Don says has changed to the 50d.  It's the same on the X6.

Thanks for replies guys and sorry to be the on to tell you Woofer! If you want it changed BMW do not have much of a leg to stand on. In the price list (off the web or in the showroom), it clearly states titanium slats for xDrive40d. Also, if you do the online configurator, the 40d has titanium but change it to the 30d and they are black. Would be interesting to see what the configurator at the dealer showed? Guy said it was something like about £150 to change but didn't quote me specifically.

Yee hah...dealer agreed to replace grilles FOC , couldn't explain why but I am happy

Picked mine up this evening, first thing I noticed was the black grill.

Dealer did try and argue with me that it was correct but after some time on the configurator minds were changed and it's being replaced FOC.

yeah I auctioned them in the end. 99p start price and they sold for £65.
