I did the EGR stat as I always do that when I get a diesel due to (a) its propensity to fail and (b) its ease and cost to replace. AFTER the EGR stat it sits at 80 degrees c on a run and around 83-84 around town. Its not massively down, but I know that with 2 new stats it will hit 90 quickly and stay there (at least all my other diesels have reacted like this) and thats got to be better even if only marginally.
Access to the main stat on the E70 doesn't look good though. Some bits will have to come off.
Having said all that, if I use cruise control let it do its own thing at 67, I can maintain 36 on the OBC but that really seems forced to me. I can never drive like that when i'm controlling it - i'm all gas and then all brake. I don't think I know an inbetween zone.
