right ok! how much are the glow plugs each? and how much is module? i have inpa and dis but could never get the bloody thing to work!! could anyone help with that remotely? lol
I also have DIS, I did manage to get it to work but my BMW C110 scanner is far quicker and the best £40 I have ever spent, as well as fault codes it does live real time data of anything on the car. If you ever buy one make sure it has V3.0 software as the later V3.2 ones have had some functions removed.
Regarding the parts I have an account with Euro and a genuine Beru controller was around £65 and Beru plugs around £8

in what way are the swirl flaps different for the N series engines Richard?
Been trying to find a piccie.  All I can find is that the manifold was completely redesigned and the swirl flaps are now some form of inline system that causes the air to swirl earlier in the inlet system rather than just above each cylinder.  It also uses some form of continuous control rod and as yet little if any indication of issues across the models fitted with these engines.
No coding but fault codes and real time data from any modules on the car, used mine today to see what parking sensors were out as the Idrive was shutting it down due to a fault on the rear left and rear centre left sensors.
They have them on ebay but ask the seller for one with V3.0 software.
Got mine from here

Forgot to say the c110 also has a DPF page so you can see when the last regen happened and also it reads dpf temps and back pressure so you can see if its starting to block
Just make sure it has V3.0 software.
The later software version which I think is V3.2 does the later cars but for some reason some of the functions on the scanner get removed.
With V3.2 you can only read and clear faults on the DDE diesel electronics section.
With V3.0 you can also read things like coolant temp, dpf & cat temp, back pressure via data stream etc & lots more.
