Transfer box

Post by C11 mbu » Tue Mar 11, 2014 1:40 pm

Hello all

So got to the bottom of dsc/4x4 inactive fault.. Mates diagnostic came up, transfer box internal.. Sourced a new box ... Does any one know if I have to have it programmed to the car or is it just a direct swap.. Spoke to series 9 , they seem to think if it's the whole box and not just the motor on the side then it shouldn't need programming , anybody else done this who could tell me for sure?

Cheers

Wayne

Hi Wayne, I had mine replaced a couple of months ago, seemed a straight forward job.
I paid £280 for it to be swapped (plus a couple of hundred to change all the transmission fluids and replace dodgy popshaft bracket - which I think caused the transfer box problem).
Hope this helps
Simon :)
