Has any of you came from a RRSort to the e70 or the other way round?

Wondering how many of you have moved from the RRsport to this jeep? I read a lot before making the choice of what to buy and it was tough, I test drived both and still think the sport looks amazing in comparison, but the e70 has a lot more going for it in terms of what it actually does.

I read most of the sport users were previous e70 drivers so I'm wondering if there are guys who had sports and upgraded to the e70. I'm not sure which is more un reliable in looking at them, they both seem to harbour a lot of gremlins, but I assume that the BMW has a better service team than the rangies would.

Though from what I gather here, the tech level varies from town to town, thankfully Belfast is close to me and its got some very talented people working there.

My friend worked as a master tech for local Land rover dealership and told me in no uncertain terms, Do not buy a rrs or a disco 3!

Says they are one of the most unreliable cars he has ever known, interior plastics very cheap, specs poor, and cost a fortune to maintain.  Proof of pudding is a work colleague has a Disco 3 and has spent best part of £8000 doing all the faults as they have come along in under 3 years of ownership.  Its been a nightmare but now he is thinking along the lines of better the devil you know and all that could go wrong has gone wrong.

Finally another note to add, the 2.7 turbo diesel is a gutless wonder on a car so big and heavy.  If you are going to buy one ensure its the tdv8 version.

I was in the same position as you and after a lot of research I opted for the E70.
From what I read the RRS seem to have a lot more faults and repairs are high.
I also didn't like the square interior. ...lol.....personal preference.

It was my wife loved the x5 more, personally the RR seems more beef. But it carries the drug dealer look, and a lot of the local paramilitary guys have them over here in Belfast. So the BMW was a smarter choice and also a more frugal one. I'm just wondering who ended up moving from the sport to the BMW and why?
