petrol exhuast on a diesel?

Post by Jamee » Fri Mar 07, 2014 10:15 am

Morning,
Can I use the 3.0l petrol exhaust back boxes on my pre facelift 3.0d or are they different diameter, as would like the pipes to come out of the bumper instead of underneath?

No idea..........Sorry

I accept it is a personal choice but I like the more subtle and understated look to the rear of the 3.0d X5

If buying one used for myself I would also reject a car so modified unless priced to allow me to cause someone else to reverse the mod and not be out of pocket.

I would be more inclined to put exhaust pipes on that look like the 4.6is.

You just need to watch the the back pressures are maintained as the back boxes use different diameter feeds.  Someone did it in here by having fake tailpipes welded on and keeping the OEM pipe work.
