Hey Guys,
I've owned my X since Xmas & absolutely loving it. I went for the 3l diesel in the end which I'm really happy with apart from the looks. I wanted the 4.8is.
I've seen a number of great example on here which appear to be diesels with exhaust mods & the extra body coloured trims from the IS on.
Can anyone tell me where I can source these from as BMW have said they don't make them anymore.
Cheers
Marf

Re: Bmw 4.8is Body Kit
Welcome,
Ebay is your friend. I put in 'X5 is bumper' and there are examples there. Does your car have the extended wheel arches? These will be need to complete the body kit. I believe they are complete wheel arches not just add ons.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
If you after the arch kit link below may help
http://xdrivers.co.uk/forum/https://xdr ... 217#p45217
Depending on year of your car there is a preface lift front bumper off a 4.6is available and a rear bumper off the same which as tar as I know fits either preface lift or facelift as I bought a 4.6 one for the lower spoiler and fitted to my 4.4.
It just keeping a look out- some have also fitted the preface lift front lower bit to to a facelift bumper I think it was Sanj worth doing a search

Hi I looked at those kits got advised by my friend who runs a bodyshop to avoid as youbwould spend a log of time and money on getting the kit to fit.
I think shadrack has use this kit or a similar one and it may be worth pm him. But it may be worth waiting for the right BMW bits to come up.

Re: Bmw 4.8is Body Kit
Latvia one's were good as far as Shads was concerned but OEM can be had for less than the link (I did).
Rear valance will fit either pre or post facelifts but the front valance you have two choices of. 4.6is will fit any standard bumper on the E53 with some cutting (separate piece that will fit over the existing bumper) whereas the 4.8is bumper is a whole piece (plastic welded).
Latvia will give you a 4.8is piece which will fit over your standard bumper - still looks good.

Re: Bmw 4.8is Body Kit
Just want to add, if you chop the oil burner in and get a real 4.8is then you get the authentic bumper, the real engine purr and the good looks........
