AUX HEATER SMOKING

Post by Lloydy » Thu Mar 06, 2014 11:11 pm

Proper panic mode today!  Noticed 2 plugs disconnected from the webasto unit so plugged them in and then it starts smoking white smoke!!  From what I read this is normal??

Question is I am guessing they are unplugged for a reason?  I have recently bought the car and noticed these disconnected!

If I plug in and it smokes constantly can I cause any damage anywhere else or will it just continue billowing out?

It should only smoke for a second or two.  If it continues to smoke then something is wrong.  The fumes are unburned diesel and the unit should ignite and burn off the fuel.

It might have a tad too much fuel at present which if left for a minute or two will burn off, but more than that is very abnormal.
