looks like it should do.
its about time someone realised the potential for a simple ipod via aux in connector.

I used this lead on my old E39 and my current E53 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321326529760 and it's half the price of the above one , plus the guy is very helpful and is a BMW enthusiast .

Chris does that go to the AUX?  I have that lead think its a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack lead!

Im sure I have tried this lead and doesnt work with my IPOD.  Works with my phone.

Yeah that's right .

You take out the head unit , plug a flat connector into the AUX plug in the wiring loom and the other end is
3.5 mm jack plug that goes into the headfone socket on iPod .

However , there is a difference in volume between the 'normal' stereo outputs and the AUX so it's possible you don't have the volume turned up high enough as opposed to it doesn't work at all , so try that to see if it
works , but don't forget to turn volume back down afterwards before you switch back to another output or
you'll blow your ears off  :))

How well do these work?  Does it need custom? And how do you plug it in.

I know it's dearer but the intravee is a far better option imo.
