TYRES................What mileage are you getting out of a set of tyres ?

Post by Nat » Tue Feb 25, 2014 12:37 pm

Hi,

Have a E70 4.0d..............Got 11 k on the clock and the fronts are almost bereft of outer tread block. Looks like fronts will do 15 k and maybe the backs which are in better shape may make it past that.  So if I assume 15 K per set, Is that about the going rate or are you getting more out of yours.?

Im Dunlp sportmaxx runflats, 275 fronts and 315 rears both on 20's. Happy with the grip, ride etc etc.

Im not interested in non run flats , as I will be replacing like with like, but was just curious if the wear rate was about right.

Regards,

Nat.

Mine have about 11k on them (swapping winter & Summer). And have 3-4mm on them.  I don't think the life is anything near what I got on the E53!  Same Dunlop tyres.

I'll stick with RFT at change point, but may fit a different brand like Bridgestone so see if they last longer.

Mine are on 10k and seem fine with about 5 - 6 mm left.

My E53 tyres though lasted 47k miles ...

My E53 has 32,000 kms on the Summer tyres with about 5-6mm tread .

But it helps that I have to change by law Summer/winter tyres for 6 month each , so each set
last normally about 3 years .

Destroyed mine in c 13-14k iirc.

Careful of rears though as they can look ok but get right underneath because it is inner edges that were illegal on mine everytime.

Pvr gets so much because he drives like a pussy everywhere. I will be showing him how to drive his new car properly when he gets it
