waka,
If you are doing the remote thing i.e. 12v to pin one of the heater It should heat not blow cold air regadless of weather you enable aux heating on the OBC.

Happy to rent out my scanner to you (PM me) so you can enable the timer option for aux heating on the OBC but don't think that will make a difference if you have gone for the remote option.

I have installed yesterday remote, the Quasar 4 channel from RS, I like it as it has sliding cover over buttons. I have tapped the pin 1 in the loom, wired LED in the grille. It seems to go throughout the motions, the heater will come to ife, gets hot, fan noise will raise, the pump is clicking, exhaust is warm, water hose gets hot. So this morning I dutifully switched it on 20 minutes before departure and cabin was still cool. The heater was going, the cabin fan was going. I think, the water is not circulating from the heater? Where do I find the water pump? Any suggestions please?
thanks otto :headbang:

Thanks mcc05, that's a very kind offer. Are you in Thornton, Bucks? (I'll be in Beaconsfield over Christmas :-)
I'm hoping to get mine mapped by Jason soon and will see if he can turn turn on aux heating.

otto, you can check if the water is circulating by unscrewing the coolant filler cap when the heater is running. there should be a jet of water visible if the pump is pumping.

Thanks fenj, I have tried it now with open coolant filler cap. The heating got going, water hoses at the heater got warm/hot, no water jet visible, but a rise of level up to the brim with a little splash. After a while the heater went silent??? while having +12V on the pin 1. I closed the cap and here I am ready to receive further instructions, if you can oblige, please.
many thanks otto

Firstly a public thank you to mcc05 for the rental of his scanner.

Has anyone come across this, Google turns up nothing.

I enabled the parking heater on the OBC but still the same as my previous remote effort detailed on page 2.

The red flashing fan shows on the OBC, Webasto heater and fans start then everything stops without heating. New battery so its looking towards the error in the image.

I cleared it but it comes back at the next attempt.

The Webasto works as it should with the engine running.

Any ideas.

i had a similar but not same fault code after doing mine.
can anybody actually confirm that enabling aux heater with bmw scanner has actually got their heater working normally for say 30 minutes just by the timer function....or is there more to this than first thought?

I asked the same question a while back on this thread feng66 and mcc05 said yes it works great
i wrote:When you say you have enabled aux heating do you mean you have got it to display on the obc or that you can actually programme it to blow hot air into the cabin area? if so this sounds like a great tool.
I have a resler and navcoder which i used to activate tv in motion and sort out my bluetooth module to enable VR but it can't do much more than that where as that little gadgy sounds great
mcc05 weote: x555, yep it does mean allowing you to blow hot air into the cabin, I am sitting here watching through the window my X5 defrost as we speak.

I don't doubt that this works, my issue is a fault somewhere.

Sounds like mine, I think it is the water circulation. The heater gets going, overhats as no water circulates, and as a consequence it shuts down.

I don't get that far, the Webasto does not operate long enough to get hot.

I would like to fix it myself but I may end up stripping out the remote and trying my luck with a warranty repair. Dodgy ground perhaps as park heating was not enabled when I bought the car.

Your screen shot list`s a part number 6 927 898 this is for Automatic air conditioning control, according to BMW`s part program and realoem
this part number is not compatible with auxiliary heating. Not sure but this could be why you keep getting an error ....

That's well figured out x man

Am I right in thinking the part number should be 64116927899.

Can some one check the part number of their control unit. The BMWTNR number.
