fuel cap retainign cord - X5 E53 3.0dSport

Post by Smeeagain » Mon Nov 29, 2010 7:45 pm

On my fuel cap there is a black plastic retaining cord. it has become detached from the bodywork/filler nozzle and is still attached to the cap- I cannot see for the life of me the point at which it should be anchored to and re-attached- can anyone help please?

Thanks

Smee

I see no one else has braved the cold and had a look for you :poke:

If you haven't sorted yet, there is a small key hole type appature on the top plate of the hinge bracket just back from the hinge itself, its only a small hole so is easy to miss.
The end of the cord locates in this little hole.

Hope that helps.

On the E70 it's affixed to the hinge of the filler cap door.
