X4
X4
Does anyone have any views on the X4, get no information from the dealers yet, but it looks to arrive this summer.
Do people think it will be worth waiting for?
Will it be a good alternative to an X5 or just a 'fastback' X3?
I would be interested in your views or further information.

Re: X4
Likely to be a smaller version of the X6, and if so you could call it a 'fastback X3'. No info from my dealer either. I can imagine it having the same engines as the 3 series and it may come in both 2WD and 4WD variants.
I expect it will be another BMW panned by some critics, but which sells well in the same way the X6 has around the world.

Re: X4
Based on F25 X3 so it should certainly drive well enough. Lesser relative proportions/pricing to the X6 mean it will appeal to many and including those who have perhaps not purchased the X6 due to either of those factors.
Personally I struggle to see the attraction to sdrive X models but xdrive makes sense. Then again if I was buying a new 3 Series I would prefer xdrive also.

Re: X4
Personally I'm looking forward to seeing the X4 in the flesh. As a company car driver I hope to see an sDrive version with a proper 184 bhp diesel which for me is the ideal balance of performance and economy.

Re: X4
Not sure about that at all. The back just looks wrong and the prices are a bit steep too, especially considering how much will be 'optional' rather than standard.
The X6 is IMHO the better of the two.

Re: X4
Ok, will have to see it in the flesh, but looking at those photos I do like it. When in the dealers yesterday I was asked what thought of the 4 series convertible as they were setting up for the launch. Bland and too safe a design was my response, so seeing the X4 it looks like the designers have been given a little more freedom to let their creative juices flow.
The new 2 series was also there and it looked like a 3 series nose had been grafted on to a 1 series rear. Probably grow on me, but first impression was one off, I'm not sure.

Re: X4
Most audis look the same.. And dated too! Except the R8, and they seem have pulled off a surprise with the new TT!
All BMWs look the same now! Fortunately most look good, except the new X5!
It's a generation theme sh1t I think, they need to allow much more individuality in these designs.
Mercs used to look crap to me, but recently they've upped the game with the new designs.
Some of the vauxhalls, Peugeots etc look nice!

I think the new TT looks very similar to the old one, particularly at the back

Re: X4
true.. but then again the TT design was so iconic i guess they thought of milking the cow for a few more years before slaughtering for meat!
super stuff with 420hp out of a 2L engine! that too on a light weight car with possibly Quattro!
