Friday night quiz

Post by martinglester » Fri Jan 10, 2014 9:35 pm

Evening all,

Got some interior LEDs for xmas from China, 21 in total including rear number plate lights. Now the big question is what goes where!

Anyone ordered this kit and fitted it? And if so any guidance would be appreciated...

Recently installed the same kit. I just undid all the interior lights and put the bulbs in the slots they fit into. Bear in mind that they have to be put in the right way round unlike conventional bulbs which light either way. If it doesn't work, spin it round.

From memory:

Bottom right - Interior boot lid lamps
Top right large flat - Interior front and rear centre roof lights (centre lamp)
Top right small round - Wing mirror downlighters
Top middle - Interior front and rear centre roof lights (map lights, same unit as above)

All the others fit into footwells, doors and numberplate. They are all different lengths so will only fit the right slot. Although my numberplate lights were a very tight fit and had to bend the contacts slightly. Also when I installed the wing mirror lights they caused a voltage error and only flashed once instead of staying on. This is a resistance problem which can be overcome by soldering in a resistor. Havent done this yet although there is a guide on here somewhere.

Thanks so much, was the big flat ones that threw me the most, I assume its pretty obvious where to fit them once the roof lights are out. Spent all day replacing suspension bushes on our e46 today so will fit these later in the week

I tried two companies mentioned on here but ended up going with these:

Delivery was within a few days which isn't bad considering they're from China.

Fitted mine yesterday and they look great, my kit didn't have lights for the wing mirrors but have found some others to suit so will buy seperately.

This was the kit i bought, took a little bit more time to arrive from china but all good once here!
