Could you hear a clunking sound? Does the window try to move up? Any other specific symptoms some it could be a number of things

Hello mate,

There's is a clicking/clunking sound when I press the window down (it's already all the way down) but no sound when I press for it to go up .. Haven't noticed anything else ,

Have a look at this. Cheap and easy to diy

In the mean time what you can do is get a screw driver, ram it in the side of the frame so it acts as a guide for the window to go up.

If it was making a noise like a whisk thrashing inside a bowl chances are the regulator is toast.

Try your fix before attempting anything that may cause the regulator to fail in event it is clip only.

Oh and I would have some duct tape handy just in case you get into trouble and need to keep window shut.

Note there are 2 clips per window. It's worth while changing both.

Silly question but have you checked fuses??

Could be the loom to the door has a dicky core in it!!

Have checked the fuses .. A smart person would of checked those first , obv I didn't lol.. But they are ok, if I was to close the windows with the keyfob woukd the drivers window still not close if the switch is the problem ?? I'm running out of ideas...

If using the key fob then it should close irregardless of the switch state..
It is looking like either the Window motor (Which i think you have checked) the loom to teh door or the window module. Part of the General Body Module (ZKE) i believe??

You can activate it independantly in INPA to check that side.
I would check for volts at the motor plug when operating and work back to loom before pillar and further back if no joy.

I had to replace the loom in my sisters VW Sharan (53 plate) due to cores broken.
I also had to replace most of the door loom in my old E39 Touring and prior to that an E34 saloon all due to broken cores from continual flexing.

IIRC when my switch stopped working the windows would still work with the key.
