I recently bought X5 3.0D(2006) but the television is not working. I have tried rescanning all channels but still didn't worked. Although it shows all channels there but no audio and visuals. Can you please help.
Interesting. A 2006 should have a dual unit as they were fitted from late 2004 onwards. If you have an analogue only in yours then it's either been replaced with a different unit or that part of the receiver has failed.
As Richard said above, the TVs from 2004 onwards were hybrid receivers so both analogue and digital signals received......i had a late 2003 3.0i a few years back which was an early facelift and even it had a hybrid tv receiver, so either you are simply not in a good reception area or the original hybrid receiver from your car was swopped out by its previous owner.........

Sorry for late reply. Yes it does have a dual unit because when i rescan channels, it does say the Analouge channels found and digital channel found. But it could be that i m in a bad reception area.. Will try scanning some other place. cheers!
Dual mode (hybrid) receivers were officially installed from production starting after 1st October 2004 - around Week 40 for that calendar year if memory serves. If it was made before then then it is likely you won't have one unless the original unit was replaced under warranty. After that date they should all be dual mode.
I think the TV module is down by the battery? See if you can find a part number on yours.

I'm now wondering whether I can get a dual mode OE replacement for my analogue receiver, any one got any clues as to where/how much?

Should be a straight replacement. Have a look on ebay etc. Dealers can also supply, but the price is stupidly high - like several hundred pounds!!
If you do get one from ebay, make sure it is a proper dual mode unit and is for the UK TV spec (PAL/DVB-T) and not NTSC (US Spec).
