Finally!!!!

Post by pcdee » Fri Dec 27, 2013 12:02 pm

Hello all

After looking and saving for ages I have now bought myself an E70!!!

Its a late 97 plate silver 7 seater, has the 20" 'Y' spoke wheels Media pack and Dynamic pack and panny roof.

Had it for 3 days now and must say I do love it.  Took it for a long drive yesterday and the MPG sucked, got 32 doing 70!!  Not quiet 40  ::)

I have bought a years warranty too and was wondering if a code it would it invalidate the warranty?

Thanks....a very proud X5 owner

You are very unlikely to see 40mpg out if these no matter how much BMW would like you to believe it.  What you are seeing is spot on.

As to coding, it might invalidate your warranty but only if the car goes to a BMW Dealership who spot it.  If an official upgrade is done then it will reset your coding as the factory holds a 'build config' data file which their systems overwrites any changes too.

You should keep a copy of any configs so you can reload them just in case.
