Fuel

Post by nabeelchohan » Thu Dec 19, 2013 10:13 am

Hi Guys.

This is my first time posting in this forum, so hello to everyone.

I bought 2006 X5 3.0D yesterday from the trader. I had problem with fuelling up my car as it just stopped after nearly every litre of fuel. What could the problem be? Is it due to the air gap or anything else?

Cheers
Nabeel

I have had this many times and with different cars at certain filling stations.

Try moving the filler nozzle around or pulling it out a bit.  There is an anti-siphon device in the filler neck which some pumps are overly sensitive to and their auto-shutoff keeps triggering.

Thanks Richard. I have tried filling from 2 fuel stations but had the same problem, will try again though.

Thanks Colin for the wishes.  :)

Welcome.

I had this with an E39, just used to have to try the nozzle at different angles slightly.
