Greetings from Switzerland

Post by Karl » Thu Dec 12, 2013 1:12 pm

Hey guys,

Brand new X5 owner, really found the wealth of information on here useful in helping me make the decision.

I'm originally from London but I've been here for over 6 years now. I live in a town called Basel in the North East of Switzerland, a few minutes from the French and German borders (useful for blasts on the Autobahn  :xmasevil:)

I pick up my new car on the weekend, its an Alpine white, 2011 40d with M-Sport Package, HUD, Professional Audio, sunroof etc..

Welcome Karl - nice car and spec.  Are they painted wheels?  Look like mine....

I took my X on the 'Bahn and got up to 100mph....engine was barely ticking over!  I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

[/quote]Hi,

Thanks for the welcome, its a good question about the alloys. I assumed they were OEM but could be wrong. Here is what it says on the options list

S2M5A M LM RAEDER V-SPEICHE 223 M / MB BMW LA w heel, V spoke 223

Cheers
Karl

I thought so too

Karl, I'm not as up on my Swiss law as I am English, but if I were buying it, I would consider asking the dealer to cover any issues arising - paint flaking etc.  I am sure the alloys are OEM (see my profile pic) but I'd be a little wary the paint job may not be covered by BMW warranty (prob not painted by them...)
