How can you tell?

Hi all, just wondering.
Is there a way to find out if my X5 has been remapped?
Just wondering as it seems to be faster & better on fuel than my last one!

The previous owner never mentioned that it had been remapped!

It sounds quite possible , mine has been re-mapped and has the same traits as yours .

I believe there is a way of telling if you have the proper equipment , but I'm sure someone
with better knowledge than mine will be along to tell you soon

I wouldn't be so sure I would tell a prospective buyer if I'd had my car remapped, it may put them off or enhance the appeal. Some may be worried that if they knew about a remap and didn't declare it to their insurance company as being performance modified, increasing their premiums.
Or if the buyer would be more interested, as they would have the benefits of greater performance and better fuel consumption .

Well this X5 is definitely quicker! Same engine & year as my last one.
I'm averaging 27mpg & my last one I averaged 24mpg!
