One of the sensors was replaced under warranty last week. PDC worked for about two days. Now gone off. Solid beep from the back, then PDC light just flashing. Putting it in reverse and ear up to each sensor one by one - all of them are clicking. What else could cause this?
I did notice that some are a more prominent click than others. Is this normal?

Yes that is the case, the scanner1.4.0 can be used for diagnosing some PDC faults, but may only pick up the faulty ones when they are inoperable, the system may be playing up due to a weak sensor. These are harder to detect.
BMW INPA has a function which tests the range and effectiveness of each sensor, so weak ones can be identified.
Sensors may be making a clicking noise, but do not satisfy the PDC system so it shows it's not happy by constantly bleeping.
You may have to return it to the garage again for them to re scan the car.

Thanks for that info! Back to the garage I go...
Re: PDC fault but all sensors working
I had my X5 in BMW the other week regarding the samne fault. They ended up changing the wiring loom and all is good now.
Re: PDC fault but all sensors working
I had a fault with one of my senors which I swapped out. Then got the exact same fault you are describing, I just cleaned the sensors and good as new.
