Hi,
Just curious which bulbs are OEM, as the car came standard with xenon. I've also noticed a slight hint of purple in the light.
I have had H.I.D's on all my previous cars and they were always white/blue, but never purple.
Anyone?

I think they are D2S type.
The blue flash is alleged to be a deliberate design of the projector lens by BMW to show that part of the rainbow so others could tell it is a BMW.

Hmmm.
Are they 4300k or 6000k?

Re: E53 OEM xenon
4,300K is the EU standard, though some OEM go to 4,600.
6,000 will appear 'bluer' though not enough to cause problems
A fair few on here have gone around 6,000K and 55W for theirs with great improvement observed.
I'm looking at Osram D1 replacements on the X6 which are around 5,500K or so.
